This year’s Aarti Thali Competition will be held on
FRIDAY, 15TH OCTOBER 2021
We will be running our annual Aarti Thali Competition in a slightly modified way as a result of the Covid pandemic.
Entrants must register by Wednesday 13th October 2021 by sending us an email to mail@seha.org.uk
If you have already registered your entry during our Navratri Workshop on 3rd October, then you do not need to email us to register again.
If you are registering by email then please provide the full name of the entrant, their age, and also TWO progress pictures of the Thali being made, and also a picture of the final result.
We encourage as many entries as possible, but we ask all entrants to commit to entering a thali so that all groups are well represented. Entries will be categorised into the following groups and each group will be individually judged, with one overall winner per group:
Group A: 5-8 years
Group B: 9-11 years
Group C: 12-15 years
Group D: 16+
All thalis must be brought in on competition day, Friday 15th October, to the main mandir upstairs no later than 7.30pm. The judging and results will then follow, and all entrants will be able to perform the Aarti using their thalis at 8.30pm. Please ensure only the entrant and their immediate family attend on this day. Please do not come as multiple households or as a large family group, as we will need to manage the number of people in the mandir carefully, particularly given that we will be performing Aarti in the main mandir upstairs.
Please ensure your thali is complete with a DIVO which can be lit for aarti, as all entrants will be invited to use their thalis for the aarti on the day of the competition.
Each entrant will receive a gift, and we have a special prize for the winner of each category.
NOTE: Ready made thali’s and re-entry of thali’s from previous years will be disqualified. Make sure YOU create your OWN plate.
